Woman Fatally Shot While Driving SUV in Orange; Police Continue Search for Shooter
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a 24-year-old woman named Amber Nicole Parsons was fatally shot while driving an SUV through the City of Orange. Authorities say the incident occurred near Highland Street and Del Mar Avenue, where an unknown individual fired multiple rounds into her vehicle as she navigated through the neighborhood. Her passenger escaped without injury and is cooperating with investigators.
According to police, Parsons and the passenger had just turned around in a cul-de-sac when the shooter struck. Investigators estimate around ten shots were fired, possibly from a handgun, though no weapon was found at the scene. The suspect fled on foot and remains at large. While the area has been previously described by law enforcement as a “gang neighborhood,” there is no current indication that Parsons or her passenger knew the assailant.
Investigators are canvassing nearby homes and scouring surveillance footage in hopes of identifying the shooter. Local police have appealed to residents for any video or eyewitness accounts to help piece together the sequence of events. The community remains shaken by the violence, as questions linger about motive, target, and possibility of escalation.
