21-Year-Old Suspect Arrested in Connection With Orange Vehicle Shooting Death

Authorities have arrested Allan Plata, a 21-year-old from Orange, as the suspect in the fatal shooting of Amber Nicole Parsons, who was struck while driving her SUV near Highland Street and Del Mar Avenue. Plata was taken into custody in La Habra without incident and booked for murder, attempted murder, and a probation violation.

Police say Parsons was shot just after midnight when an unknown assailant opened fire into her car; her passenger escaped unharmed. Investigators report that the suspect fled on foot immediately after the shooting and used the cover of darkness to evade capture until the recent arrest. Authorities are continuing to search for additional evidence and are asking anyone with surveillance footage or tips to come forward.
