City of Orange Police Department to Host DUI & CDL Checkpoint on West Chapman Avenue Tonight

The City of Orange Police Department announced that a DUI and CDL driver’s license checkpoint will take place tonight on West Chapman Avenue between West Crescent Avenue and North Cambridge Street, running from 7 p.m. until about 2 a.m. The operation aims to identify impaired drivers, ensure commercial drivers are properly licensed, and improve roadway safety across the city.

Officers will conduct systematic vehicle stops, performing sobriety tests and license verifications as needed. Those caught driving under the influence or without valid credentials may face arrest, citation, or vehicle impoundment. Police officials emphasized that checkpoints like this are vital in deterring unsafe driving behavior and reducing alcohol- and drug-related crashes.

Local residents can expect heavier patrol presence and minor traffic delays in the area during the evening hours. Authorities encourage drivers to plan ahead, designate a sober driver, and stay alert on the roads.
