Summer Engineering Academy Gives Orange Area Students Hands-On Engineering Experience
High school students interested in technology, design, and problem-solving can explore the world of engineering this summer through Chapman University’s Summer Engineering Academy.
Hosted by Chapman’s Fowler School of Engineering, the program offers hands-on workshops designed to introduce students to engineering concepts through interactive projects and real-world applications. The academy is open to students entering grades 8 through 12 during the 2026–27 academic year and provides an opportunity to learn directly from university faculty and engineering professionals.
Programs like the Summer Engineering Academy help students explore potential career paths while developing skills in innovation, teamwork, and critical thinking. Participants gain exposure to engineering disciplines in a college setting, making it an excellent opportunity for students considering future studies in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
For Orange families, the academy offers a unique chance for students to spend part of their summer engaged in educational experiences while exploring one of the city’s leading higher education institutions.
The Summer Engineering Academy runs from June 15 through July 16, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM at Chapman University’s Keck Center for Science & Engineering, located at 450 North Center St. in Old Towne Orange.
