An Evening of Local History and Film in Old Towne Orange

The Orange Community Historical Society is inviting the community to an evening dedicated to Orange’s past through film, storytelling, and civic participation.

The gathering will feature two short films that highlight different chapters of local history. Attendees will view Eric Vogelvang’s “The Pacific Electric in Orange,” which explores the role of the historic rail system in shaping the city, along with “The History of the Sonlight Church,” offering insight into a longtime local institution and its place in the community.

In addition to the film screenings, the evening will include the election of the 2026 OCHS Board of Directors, providing members and attendees with an opportunity to take part in shaping the organization’s leadership for the coming year.

The event will be held at Son Light Christian Center, located at 172 North Glassell Street in Old Towne Orange.

As Orange continues to grow and evolve, events like this one offer a chance to pause and reflect on the stories, infrastructure, and institutions that helped shape the city. The evening provides a thoughtful mix of education and engagement for anyone interested in preserving and understanding Orange’s local history.
