A Monthly Gathering Brings Reptile Enthusiasts Together in Orange
On the first Friday of every month, members of the local reptile community gather in Orange for the California Turtle & Tortoise Club, OC monthly meeting — a long-running tradition focused on education, shared knowledge, and connection.
The meeting offers attendees the opportunity to hear presentations from turtle and tortoise experts, take part in informative discussions, and exchange experiences with others who share an interest in these unique animals. Open to longtime keepers, curious beginners, and anyone interested in learning more, the gatherings emphasize inclusion and learning over formality.
Each meeting runs from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and is held at First Christian Church, located at 1130 East Walnut Avenue. The consistent schedule has helped the group build a dependable space for education and community over time.
Occasionally, meetings take on a seasonal theme. In December, the club hosts a holiday potluck and gift exchange, adding a social and celebratory element to the regular programming and welcoming newcomers alongside longtime members.
As Orange continues to support a wide range of community interests, groups like the California Turtle & Tortoise Club highlight how shared passions — even niche ones — can bring people together month after month.
