The Orange Senior Center: A Legacy of Care, Community, and Connection

For more than five decades, the Orange Senior Center has stood as a pillar of compassion and community in the heart of the city. Its mission is simple yet profound: to enhance the quality of life for older adults through programs that promote health, independence, and social connection.

Each week, hundreds of seniors walk through the Center’s doors to share a meal, take a class, or enjoy the company of friends. The Center offers nutritious congregate meals, fitness and wellness classes, transportation services, educational workshops, and social activities designed to keep seniors active and engaged. For many, it’s more than just a facility; it’s a lifeline.

Whether it’s providing a warm lunch, a ride to the doctor, or a friendly face to talk to, the Orange Senior Center helps ensure that every senior in the community can age with dignity, connection, and joy.

Making a Difference in the Quality of Life for Our Seniors

Deeply invested in the community for generations, the Ricci Family has long supported organizations that make a tangible difference in people’s lives.

In 2016, Ricci Realty partnered with the Orange Senior Center to launch what would become one of the city’s most beloved community events, the Annual Shredding Event. Designed to help residents safely dispose of sensitive documents, the event turned a practical need into a powerful act of generosity.

Rather than charging a fee, the Ricci family invited participants to make a $5 donation per box of documents shredded, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Orange Senior Center. Since that first event, the tradition has grown every year, bringing neighbors together, strengthening relationships, and raising vital funds to support local seniors.

From 2016 through 2025, the event has generated more than $13,475 in donations for the Center. These contributions have helped fund programs that provide meals, activities, and transportation for seniors throughout the city.

The Ricci family’s impact extends well beyond the annual shredding event. They are regular supporters of the Senior Center’s programs and initiatives, often contributing to special projects, facility needs, and events that enhance the lives of Orange’s senior citizens. Their consistent partnership has helped ensure the Center remains a welcoming place where older adults can thrive physically, emotionally, and socially.
