Teen on E-Motorcycle Leads Orange Police Officer on Chase Through Grijalva Park
A teenager riding an electric motorcycle led an Orange police motorcycle officer on a chase through Grijalva Park after allegedly refusing to stop during an enforcement operation targeting unsafe e-bike and e-motorcycle riding. Body camera footage released by the Orange Police Department shows the rider weaving through parking lots, dirt trails, and grassy areas while the pursuing officer repeatedly urged the teen to stop, warning that the situation would only become more serious if the chase continued.
The pursuit ended safely when the officer was able to stop the rider without injuries. Police cited the 13-year-old for nine alleged violations, including evading an officer, riding without a helmet, operating an unregistered and uninsured motorcycle, and several equipment and licensing violations. The e-motorcycle was impounded, and officials say the enforcement effort comes in response to numerous community complaints about reckless riding at Grijalva Park. The department hopes the incident serves as a reminder that illegal and unsafe operation of high-powered e-motorcycles can carry serious consequences.
