STEAM Workshop Turns Food Science Into a Hands-On Experience in Orange
Teens and tweens in the City of Orange can step into the role of scientist at an upcoming STEAM workshop hosted by the Orange Public Library Foundation, offering a fun and interactive way to explore the science behind everyday foods.
Titled “The Mystery of Food: A Hands-On STEAM Investigation,” the session invites participants to discover why their favorite foods look, taste, and feel the way they do. Designed as a high-tech, hands-on experience, the program turns learning into an engaging experiment where attendees become the lead researchers.
Rather than a traditional classroom setting, the workshop encourages curiosity, creativity, and experimentation, giving young participants a chance to explore science through real-world applications. Future sessions will continue the hands-on approach, including activities like creating seed bombs to help restore wildlife habitats.
For families in Orange, the program offers a unique opportunity for teens and tweens to dive into science in a fun, approachable way while spending time at one of the city’s key community spaces.
The STEAM for Teens & Tweens workshop takes place Saturday, April 11 from 3 PM to 4:30 PM at the Orange Public Library, located at 407 East Chapman Ave in Old Towne Orange.
