A Community Music Gathering Brings Neighbors Together at the Orange Main Library
Music and community come together at the Orange Main Library during a welcoming gathering that invites people of all skill levels to strum, sing, and learn together. Designed to be inclusive and relaxed, the event creates space for creativity, shared knowledge, and a little fun.
The gathering centers around group music-making, with a focus on participation rather than performance. Beginners are encouraged to join, whether they’re picking up an instrument for the first time or simply curious about learning a few songs. Those without a ukulele are still welcome — participants can sing along or even check out an instrument using a library card.
The morning is split into two sessions to accommodate different comfort levels. A beginner-friendly session runs from 10:30 to 11 a.m., offering guidance and an easy introduction to playing and singing. From 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the gathering opens up to all levels, creating a collaborative environment where experience ranges widely and learning happens naturally.
Held at the Orange Main Library, 407 East Chapman Avenue, the event reflects the library’s role as more than just a place for books. It serves as a community hub where neighbors can connect, explore new interests, and enjoy shared experiences.
Open to the public and free to attend, the music gathering offers a simple reminder that community doesn’t always require a stage — sometimes it just takes a few songs, open ears, and people willing to show up together.
