New Ice Cream Shop Paradis Brings a Sweet Danish Twist to Old Towne Orange

Old Towne Orange just got a little sweeter with the arrival of Paradis Ice Cream, a Denmark-born ice cream shop that has quickly become one of the newest buzzed-about additions near the Plaza.

Paradis is known for its handcrafted Danish-style ice cream, which sits somewhere between traditional American ice cream and Italian gelato — richer and creamier than gelato, but lighter and smoother than classic ice cream. The company focuses heavily on fresh ingredients, small-batch production, and made-daily flavors, helping it build a loyal following as it expanded from Denmark into Southern California.

The Orange location has generated a lot of excitement because it feels like such a natural fit for Old Towne. With the Plaza continuing to grow into a walkable food and dessert destination, locals have been eager to see another unique concept move into the historic district. Paradis adds a more boutique-style dessert experience to the area while still matching the relaxed charm and community feel that people love about Orange.

Beyond the ice cream itself, the shop’s bright storefront and European-inspired approach have already started drawing attention from residents, Chapman students, and visitors spending time around the Circle. The menu includes classic flavors alongside rotating seasonal options, vegan choices, and fruit-based sorbets, giving it broad appeal for different tastes and dietary preferences.

For Orange locals, Paradis feels like the kind of place that quickly becomes part of the routine — whether that’s grabbing dessert after dinner around the Plaza, stopping in during a walk through Old Towne, or meeting up with friends on a warm night.

Paradis Ice Cream is located at 30 Plaza Square in Old Towne Orange and is currently open daily from 10 AM to 10 PM.
